The Master of
Science in Bible degree is designed to provide biblical, theological,
and practical training for individuals with a variety of goals.
In addition to an fundamental required course
curriculum (48 credits), a student may choose from various electives (12 credits) that provide
an emphasis in Old Testament, New Testament, the original
languages of Greek and Hebrew, theology, counseling, education,
and organizational leadership.
A
student with no previous Bible and/or theology credits will
be required to complete 60 credits to earn the master's degree.
Students that have graduated from an accredited Bible College,
Christian Liberal Arts College, or Seminary may be eligible
for up to 15 credits of advance standing in this program.
The remaining 45 credits of their curriculum would then be
selected first from courses from the core
curriculum not
attributed to advance standing, and then from elective courses
the student chooses. An applicant who has taken graduate
courses at another accredited graduate school may be eligible
to transfer up to 15 credits if coming with advance standing
(for a total of up to 30 credits), or 30 credits if no advance
standing, toward the M.S. in Bible Degree, or the
M. Div. Degree.
One of the outcomes of this degree program should be spiritual
growth that results from healthy interaction with Bible and
Doctrine courses. Graduating students also will be more competent
in their ability to teach God's Word in any setting and provide
professional leadership to local and parachurch ministries.
Graduates of this program will also have a solid foundation
for further graduate education.
Required courses are offered twice
every three years (including summers). Elective courses
in the Bible program are offered on a rotating basis.
Upon registration, each student will be given a Student
Status Sheet which will enumerate Advance Standing Credits
earned (if applicable) and outline their Master of Science
in Bible Program. |
