Welcome
to the Pastoral Ministries Program home page! When Paul wrote
to young Timothy he said, “It is
a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office
of
overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do.” (1
Timothy 3:1)
If you love people and desire to share the Word as a pastor
then you aspire to a holy calling demanding Biblical wisdom,
godly character, and developed ministry skills. We would
like to help you prepare for ministry in each of those areas.
Building on a strong Bible curriculum, the Pastoral
Ministries and Pre-Seminary programs are designed to equip a student
for the pastorate,
pastoral staff position, and/or graduate study. An extensive
variety of issues confronting today’s pastor are studied.
Topics include both the traditional roles of a pastor—preaching,
evangelism, understanding culture, visitation, weddings,
funerals, baptisms, etc.—and exposure to the business
details confronting a modern pastor—leading and managing,
working with Boards, legal and moral issues, change and conflict
management.
The Church Ministries Interdisciplinary
Program is ideal
for the student who would like to tailor a program to their
individual need and ministry goals. This program allows maximum
freedom of selection in both professional and arts and sciences
courses.
Your professors have solid academic credentials and years
of hands-on experience in the local church or missions, and
a passion to see students know, love, and understand the
local church.
We would love to have you come and join one of our programs!
If you have questions about the programs or if you would
