"The PBU Social Work program prepared me personally and professionally. The faculty consistently challenged me inside and outside of the classroom to wrestle with my identity and role as a follower of Christ in a world inundated with hurt and social injustice. The program provided an excellent education that has equipped me with the knowledge, values and skills to not only be effective in the field, but also continue on from PBU to obtain my master's degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania. I am well prepared for my work as a clinical social worker with families."

"As a social work major at PBU, I have had many
unique opportunities to impact the student body, the local
community, and the
city of Philadelphia. The social work professors are committed
to helping students grow in areas of service, promoting awareness,
and conducting social change. As a senior in my last semester,
I am able to reflect on how much I have grown in my knowledge,
skills, and values of the social work profession over the
past several years at PBU. Due to the quality training I
have received in social work and Bible at PBU, I will be
able to enter the professional field of social work immediately
upon graduation. I would strongly recommend the social work
program at PBU to anyone who is interested in going into
a profession to help others."

"I would highly recommend the PBU Social Work program
for anyone desiring to gain a holistic understanding of
how to
minister to people. The combination of Bible training, sociological
knowledge and counseling skills enable you to multiply your
effectiveness as a professional social worker. We live in
a world that is not only desperate for God’s Word but
also for Christ’s restoring power to be practically
ministered. I believe that the PBU Social Work program is
the best preparation available for those who love God and
have a passion for people."
Crystal Swartzentruber ( ‘02)
"The Bible and social work education I received
at PBU was an excellent combination. It taught me how to
love with the love that Christ has given to me; and how
to use that love along with social work skills to effectively
help a diverse population of people. Since my Bible education
was combined with my social work classes, I was able to
connect the person I am in Christ to others through the
art of helping in social work practice."
