Launched in 1992, the Degree Completion program
enables students to return to college and complete a
B.S. in Bible degree. Students are typically 25 or older
and have completed approximately two or more years of
college credit. Despite their busy schedules, students
are motivated to complete their degree while continuing
to fulfill life's other responsibilities. This is made
possible by creative scheduling, allowing students to
choose one day of the week to attend class (either Tuesday
or Thursday evening or Saturday morning) in less than two years.
The
faculty consists of both full- and part-time professors.
Some classes are taught by visiting faculty with expertise
in a specific area. All faculty members complete a special
orientation on how to relate to adult students, which
greatly enhances the learning experience. Personalized
class settings allow students to enjoy frequent interaction
with professors. Upon completing the program, individuals
receive a B.S. in Bible degree with an emphasis in one of four professional areas:
- Discipleship Counseling
- Educational Concepts
- Ministry Leadership
- Organizational Management

Curriculum
Only one module (course) is taken at a
time by a group of students who progress through the
program together. About 10 breaks are scattered throughout the year.
The instructional
modules are organized into four semesters totaling
51 semester hours. Course materials include detailed assignments for
each week, helping the student plan studies accordingly.
Graduation
Requirements
To graduate, students must complete a
total of 120 college credits, 51 of which must be taken
in residence in the Degree Completion program. Of the remaining
69 credits, 60 will normally be earned in prior educational
programs or through prior learning. Nine electives will come from these sources or Degree Completion elective courses.
A cumulative grade point average of 2.0
(4.0 scale) or above in courses taken at PBU is required
for graduation. Upon fulfilling these requirements,
the student is awarded the Bachelor of Science degree
in Bible with emphasis in your chosen professional area.
Credit for Prior
Learning
If you enter Degree Completion with fewer
than the number of general education or elective courses
required, credits may often be obtained through Credit for
Prior Learning. In the admission process, Degree Completion
personnel can estimate the number of CPL credits the
student may receive. For more information on Credit
for Prior Learning, contact the Degree Completion Office.
