The goal of academics
at WWC is not only that students master content areas,
but that they formulate a biblical world view and begin
to integrate this mindset into all areas of life. At
WWC, the process of student intellectual and spiritual
development emphasizes connecting what a student learns
inside the classroom to how he or she lives outside
the classroom.
At
WWC, students encounter learning in a small group atmosphere,
where student interaction with other students and professors
is the norm. Within the WWC community, the faculty make
it their goal to be available to aid, nurture, and guide
students in their academic and spiritual pursuits. At
WWC, we view all areas of life as learning opportunities.
Therefore, the entire program becomes our extended classroom,
and academic life is not simply a part of the program,
but is integrally related to all aspects of the program.
The combination of classroom learning, personal discipleship,
and day to day living experiences within a small-group
atmosphere offers the student a higher degree of education.
Curriculum Philosophy
WWC offers 32 credits of study. Twenty-four credits
are Bible and Bible-related courses. Eight credits
are Arts and Sciences courses related to Christian
worldview, environmental science, physical fitness,
and recreation.
A unique feature of the program is the use of highly
qualified visiting faculty for one-week teaching modules.
Each three-credit course is divided into three one-week
teaching modules. Each week of 13-15 hours is equivalent
to one-third of a (semester-long) course. The student
also takes three additional hours per week in a continuing
semester course taught by the campus director. The resultant
class hours per week (totaling 16-18 hours) are the
equivalent of a normal full-time college load.
