Federal Aid Title IV Programs

Grants

Amount based on a federal formula that applies to all students. The maximum grant for 2007-2008 is $4,310. Students may be citizens or eligible non-citizens of the U.S. All programs except Graduate School
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) Needy students enrolled in a degree program who do not have a bachelor's degree.  Exceptional financial need must be demonstrated.  (Must be a PELL recipient) Awards vary according to need.  Awards range from $500 to $1,500 Students must be citizens or eligible non-citizens of the U.S.

Loans

Subsidized Federal Stafford Loan All students taking at least six credits in a degree program may be eligible.  FAFSA applications required prior to applying for a Stafford Loan.  (Financial need must be demonstrated.) The Stafford Master Promissory Note (MPN) paper version may be obtained from any lending institution or the financial aid office. The MPN should be submitted at least two months prior to enrollment. $3,500 max. in 1st year
$4,500 max. in 2nd year
$5,500 max. in subsequent years
Repayment with interest begins six months after the student is no longer enrolled at least half-time

State Grants (other than PA) Financial need must be demonstrated.   Applicant must meet individual grant program requirements. FAFSA and State edition of grant application, if required. Awards vary. CT, DE, OH, MA, ME, RI, VT, and WV are reciprocal to PA colleges. Same as Above

Academic and Merit Scholarships

The University offers new freshman and transfer students significant scholarship aid based on each student's academic record and/or unusual achievements in church and community service. The Admissions Office evaluates students for these scholarships as a part of the admissions process. Contact the Admissions Office for details.

Note: Students awarded scholarships for 2008-2009 must enroll full-time in the fall 2008 semester. Scholarship offers are rescinded for students not enrolling. A new scholarship offer may be made for enrollment in a future semester.

* Students may be eligible for multiple scholarships. Recipients must be full-time students enrolled in main campus undergraduate day school degree programs.   Not available for Wisconsin program.

Friends of Israel Institute of Jewish Studies Scholarship Full-time students enrolled in the Friends of Israel Institute of Jewish Studies FAFSA must be filed. Scholarship application available upon request from the Friends of Israel Institute of Jewish Studies office.
