Including PBU in
Your Will
Name Philadelphia Biblical University
in your Last Will and Testament. You may choose to
name a specific dollar amount, a number of shares
of stock, or a percentage of your estate. As you work
with an attorney to make your will, you may suggest
that the following wording be used:
-
I bequeath to Philadelphia Biblical
University, 200 Manor Avenue, Langhorne, PA 19047,
[amount for example, 25%] of my estate
to be used for the University endowment.
-
I leave to the PBU Scholarship Fund
of Philadelphia Biblical University, 200 Manor Avenue,
Langhorne, PA 19047, the cash amount of $10,000.
Staff in the
Advancement Office of Philadelphia Biblical University
are available to consult with you regarding your estate
plan and making a will without ANY obligation. It
is our desire to assist individuals in making sure
that all of their family needs and charitable interests
are safeguarded and their wishes fulfilled. Call toll

Charitable Gift Annuities
A Charitable Gift Annuity is a simple
combination of two concepts: a charitable gift and
income for life. A gift annuity allows you to make
a gift to charity (such as Philadelphia Biblical University
and/or another charity of your choice), while at the
same time receiving the following benefits:
-
Income for a lifetime where a portion
is tax- free
-
Management of assets
-
Tax savings--immediately and in
the future
-
Favorable treatment of capital
gains
For example, a 72-year-old woman purchases
a $10,000 dollar single life charitable gift annuity
(CGA ) from PBU and chooses to receive an interest
payment quarterly. Her interest rate is 6.7% or
$167.50
per quarter for the remainder of her life. In addition,
she receives a one-time charitable deduction of
$4,592.00
and part of the income she receives annually is tax-free.
Upon her death PBU receives the gift. The gift annuity
will not be part of her estate, so estate taxes and
probate costs are avoided. (For illustrative purposes
only )
