Business Services Representative
Philadelphia Biblical University is accepting applications for the full-time position of Business Services Representative (BSR). The position reports directly to the Director of Business Services/Controller.
The BSR, being the first point of contact for most internal and external visitors to Business Services, is responsible to courteously and promptly provide general information on routine matters, and direct customers to others in the department, as needed. The individual is one of two BSRs who work in conjunction with the Student Accounts Manager and Student Accounts Counselor in meeting with students, and aiding them in the record keeping and collection of student accounts within various assigned programs. The BSR also collects, issues receipts, and makes deposits of incoming monies into the proper accounts and provides general administrative assistance to members of Business Services.
Qualifications include an associate's degree, preferably in bookkeeping or general accounting, plus experience as a bookkeeper, bank teller or other related occupation. Graduate Counseling
Faculty Member
The Graduate Program in Christian Counseling is accepting applications for a faculty position to be filled July 1, 2010. Candidates should be prepared to teach in the Graduate Counseling Program, develop a program to provide counseling services to the community, and may interface in a supervisory capacity with the University's student counseling center.
In this position, the faculty member will be required to fulfill all regular duties of a university teacher including teaching a full-time load including Fall, Spring, and Summer semester courses, and other administrative, advisory and committee-related duties. The faculty member would also be required to abide by the standards of conduct and professional guidelines of the University and be in agreement with the University's Statement of Faith.
The successful candidate must possess a PhD in Counseling / Clinical Psychology, Pennsylvania LPC or licensed psychology, clinical experience and management ability or experience in developing or leading a counseling center. College or university teaching experience is also required; some teaching experience at the graduate level is preferred. Office of Safety and Security
Security Shift Supervisor
The Office of Safety and Security is seeking candidates to fill a full-time staff position of Supervisor to work a schedule of evening shift and/or overnight shifts, (4:00 p.m. to midnight and from midnight to 8:00 a.m. respectively) and weekends (total 40 hours per week).
The position reports to the Director of Safety and Security and oversees campus security matters on assigned shift, including supervision of part-time officers and shuttle drivers. The Supervisor implements established procedures related to University rules and regulations, surveillance systems, welfare of students and property, motor vehicle issues, general safety and special events. The Supervisor also assists the Director in development and execution of safety and security policies and procedures.
The position requires an associate's degree or equivalent plus one to three years or experience in a security-related field. Position also requires a valid driver's license and clean driving record. EMT and previous supervisory experience is preferred. Traditional undergraduate students are not eligible for consideration, however, students in the graduate or advance programs may apply.

The School of Bible and Ministry is seeking a faculty member able to teach applied theology courses in both the undergraduate B. S. in Bible and graduate M. S. B. and M. Div. programs. Social Work
Faculty Member
The Department of Social Work is accepting applications for a faculty position, to be filled July 1, 2010. Candidates should be prepared to teach a full-time load. The primary areas of teaching responsibility may include social welfare policy, social work practice from a generalist perspective, social work research, statistics, and social science courses. Other responsibilities include student advising; faculty and committee participation; and professional involvement through writing, consulting, and serving within the social work/faith community. This individual must be a competent teacher, knowledgeable in the field, and able to make a contribution to the community as a resource person for social work.
Applicants with a doctorate in social work or a related field are preferred. A minimum of a master's degree (M.S.W.) and at least two years of post master's, agency-based experience in social work practice are required. Teaching experience is strongly preferred. Student Life
Director of Student Programs
The Office of Student Life is seeking candidates for Director of Student Programs, to begin on or about 7/1/10. This is a twelve-month per year, full-time position. University housing (an efficiency apartment) is provided, although residing on campus, while preferred, is not required.
The Director of Student Programs reports to the V.P. of Enrollment and Student Life and works closely with other members of the Student Life department, providing leadership, direction, and supervision to Student Life-run events and activities. The position also oversees many student clubs and organizations as well as intramural sports. The Director of Student Programs works closely with students and members of various departments to unify and coordinate efforts to provide a wide variety of out-of-the-classroom activities to students, and to assist and support the orientation process for new students. The position is hands-on, and requires the ability to plan, perform, and coordinate the many details involved in running a large number of events and programs.
A bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years post undergraduate work experience in student life or an event planning position is required. The position requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills; desire to invest in the lives of PBU students; ability to lead, innovate and work under direction; and excellent computer and administrative skills. Resident Director
The Office of Student Life is seeking candidates for a possible opening for a full-time Resident Director, to begin on or about 7/1/10.
The Resident Director reports to the Director of Resident Life and manages one of three residential facilities on the PBU campus. This person is responsible for coordination of the overall management of the facility and the oversight of students in the assigned residence hall. This position is one of three Resident Directors who bring both supervision and mentoring to the residents. The Resident Life team also includes Resident Assistants and Hall Coordinators. Together the team brings programmed activities, counseling, discipline, crisis management and holistic care to the students. Among the primary responsibilities is the requirement to confront students on issues of community standards. This involves mentoring, conflict resolution, accountability, relationships and discipline when needed. Resident Directors work with the Director of Resident Life to create a distinct community of Biblical university students living together.
In addition to being generally available to students in the assigned residence hall, the position requires administrative work during regular office hours. Resident Directors must be generally available to residents year-round, with lighter duties between traditional semesters. Along with full-time compensation, housing in an on-campus apartment is provided. No pets are permitted.
A bachelor's degree is required and previous residence experience/supervision is desired, but is not a prerequisite. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
