WHAT is a Listserve?
Listserve is a term representing the concept of an e-mail
mailing list, whereas people who are subscribed to the list receive e-mails via the
Internet. Listserves are generally topic-based, and people join (subscribe to) a list in
order to receive information relating to a given topic, to participate in a discussion
group, etc.
Listserve lists can be public (anyone can join) or private
(only the list administrator may add members). In addition, lists
can be moderated (only authorized individuals may send mail
to the list) or unmoderated (anyone may send mail to the
lists). Unless otherwise specified, all of PBU's listserves are
public and moderated.

should I subscribe?
Simple! To stay informed! PBU's listserve
lists are first and foremost intended to keep you up-to-date on
what's happening. See the descriptions
of each listserve below for specific information about its purpose
and other details. All public university mailing lists are low-volume
(no more than one to two messages per week).

 HOW do I
subscribe/unsubscribe?
You may either use the form provided below
(recommended), or use your e-mail program to send commands to the mail server. If you must
use the latter method, proceed as follows:
- Start your e-mail program and proceed to compose a message
- For the "To:" line, enter [listname]-subscribe@pbu.edu with listname being
one of the lists specified below
- (No subject or body are necessary)
- Proceed to send your message
For example, to subscribe to the alumni-news list, send a message to
alumni-news-subscribe@pbu.edu.
To unsubscribe from a list, repeat the above commands and substitute the unsubscribe
command for the subscribe command.

ALUMNI-NEWS - Regularly receive information about what's
going on amongst the university's alumni association. Stay in touch
with what's happening in the lives of fellow PCB/PBU alum and receive
news about upcoming events including homecoming, reunions, etc.

updates relating to the Christian Counseling program of PBU's Graduate

EVENTS - Receive regular information and updates pertaining
to upcoming events taking place at or sponsored by PBU. Information
will include dates, times, and other details about the various events,

GS-GERMANY - (Graduate Program) This list is used by PBU's
Graduate Program to communicate with students and prospective students
of its Kandern, Germany extension program. List members will receive
information updates pertaining to the Kandern program regarding courses
being taught, room and board, travel, orientation, registration, and

GS-BANGKOK - (Graduate Program) This list is used by PBU's
Graduate Program to communicate with students and prospective students
of its Bangkok, Thailand extension program. List members will receive
information updates pertaining to the Bangkok program regarding courses
being taught, room and board, travel, orientation, registration, and

and updates relating to the Master of Science in Bible program of
