Who is the Heritage Hall Resident Director?
Tom Sherf is the Resident Director in Heritage Hall. Tom and his wife Dawn have been living in Heritage Hall since its inception in 2005. They have both come to call it home and always enjoy the fall and spring semesters when students are active within the dormitory. Tom and Dawn, both alumni of PBU, had the opportunity to live on campus while they were undergraduate students. Following graduation in 2001, Tom attended Westminster Theological Seminary and graduated with a Master’s degree in systematic theology and apologetics; Dawn attended the Westminister Choir College and graduated with a Master’s in vocal pedagogy.
A Note from Tom and Dawn:
"Although we both enjoyed graduate level education, our time at PBU was treasured because of the moments we spent together and those we enjoyed with other friends. So now, with new interests and goals as a staff member, I hope for the opportunity to offer you some of those treasured moments as the RD in Heritage Hall. Whether that is going surfing with a group of students, a Bible study led by Dawn or myself, a large dormitory activity, or just down time while we are within the Great Room, our hope is that we may enrich your resident experience. My wife and I believe that each student has something to offer to fellow students and the dormitory itself. Consequently, our hope is for you to reveal the aspect of yourself that will enrich the entire community.
PBU’s Chancellor, Dr. Babb, often describes PBU as a university with a "Sword and a Soul." The sword speaks of the biblical emphasis, but the soul refers to our belief that it is a family of persons--students, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees and friends--with a passion for people's spiritual, social and physical needs. You are part of the soul of the University and I can’t wait to see what you have to offer! "
