Q: What is the purpose of a weekly student ministry while a student at PBU? |
A: Being involved in a ministry is a great opportunity to directly apply what the student has been learning in the classroom in the community setting in which they live. A ministry is an excellent way to share the love of Christ with others, as well as gain experience and knowledge in an area of ministry that interests the student.

Q: Why does my mentor have to sign my ministry covenant? |

Q: Why do I have to sign a KidSafe form when I don’t do ministry with kids? |
A: The KidSafe Student Covenant form has been established in order to protect young people and children who are involved in PBU sponsored ministries from undue risk of verbal, physical, sexual abuse and misconduct, and to protect our faculty, staff, and students from false accusations. This policy must be adhered to in order to ensure an atmosphere of emotional, spiritual and physical safety for those involved in our ministries. The Kidsafe form is required to be read and signed by all students once during their stay at PBU. Even though your ministry may not directly be involved with minors, all students potentially come in contact with minors (under age 18) as we greet prospective students or live with roommates under the age of 18.

Q: What happens if I turn in my ministry covenant late? |
A: Ministry Covenants are due to the Office of Student Ministries by the end of the third full week of classes each semester. There will be a $10 late fee for all Ministry Covenants turned in after that date until the end of the sixth full week of classes. Ministry Covenants will not be accepted after the end of the sixth full week of classes. In order to meet the necessary requirements for ministry, all ministries will need to begin by this date and all paperwork should be completed when you begin your ministry. All ministry covenants handed in after the third week of the semester will be assessed a $10 late fee.

Q: How do I get to my ministry or to church if I don’t have transportation? |
A: There is a Student Ministries vehicle available for students who need transportation to get to and from their ministry. A student must fill out a Vehicle Request Form and PBU Drivers forms as well as provide us with a copy of a current driver’s license. The Business Services Department will then notify the student if the vehicle is available for them to use and arrange for the keys to be picked up. A small fee of $.25 per mile is paid by the student to use the vehicle. This covers the cost of gasoline and insurance.

A: Ministry Opportunity Day occurs during the first week of September for all students. It is a day dedicated to ministries that are looking for students to get involved with them. Ministries that have a need come on campus and set up booths in the upper MAC lobby for the day. It gives them a chance to meet students and talk about what the Lord is doing in their ministry. There will also be an additional Ministry Opportunity Day in November for Freshman Seminar students that will be looking to get involved in ministry during the spring semester.
