Ministry Opportunity Days!
Date(s): Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009;
Friday, Sept. 4, 2009; Monday, Nov. 2, 2009
Time: 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Location: Mason Activity Center
One purpose of the University Ministry Center at PBU is to help our students connect with local churches and ministries in the area. It is our desire to partner with you as you serve to reach others with the good news of Jesus Christ. An important part of every student’s education is providing opportunities for them to put what they are learning in the classroom into practice. This hands-on experience in ministry is vitally important for the growth and development of our students. It is through the connections with churches and organizations like yours that help make our students who they are. We want to thank you.
At the beginning of each academic year, we sponsor three (3) ministry opportunity days. The dates for this year are:
- Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, 9:30am – 1:30pm, Local Churches only
- Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, 9:30am – 1:30pm, Ministry Organizations only
- Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, 9:30am – 1:30pm, especially for students new to PBU
Each ministry opportunity day allows you the option to come to PBU for the day, meet with students, and share the opportunities that are available with your ministry with them. Just set up a display in our Mason Activity Center when you arrive and then attend our chapel service which is focused on serving in ministry. A light breakfast snack will be provided for you as well as lunch with our students. We hope that this day will allow you to connect with our students as well as meet with other ministry leaders.
Ministry opportunity specifics…
- Students are available from September through mid-December and from mid-January through mid-May. Occasionally students are available for summer ministries.
- Ministry opportunities are kept on file and made available to students for one (1) year through various vehicles of communication (bulletin boards, email, website).
- Ministry opportunities and requests often outnumber the students. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that a student will be available for your church or organization. We will, however make every effort to publicize and promote your ministry opportunity.
- Students select their own ministries. They are not assigned.
- Ministry opportunities are meant to provide training for our students. We ask that you agree to provide a mentor for any students serving with you.
Tables are limited so please register today. You can print and mail the forms below
. If you can not come this year you may fill out the ministry opportunity form here online.
**Please note that Wednesday, September 2 is reserved for local church based ministries and Friday, September 4 is reserved for ministries that exist outside of the local church. Each chapel on these days is dedicated to this area of focus and we think it will provide students with a more focused and defined approach to their ministry.
