STATE EDUCATION OFFICIAL RECEIVES PBU "DISTINGUISHED EDUCATOR"
AWARD
During the December 15th Commencement Exercises, PBU presented
its first-ever Distinguished Educator Award to Dr. Warren D. Evans
of the Pennsylvania State Department of Education.
"He has a sterling 33-year career of guiding, developing and
advancing colleges, university and seminary education opportunities
in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania," said President Sherrill Babb.
"We are pleased to recognize his faithful and effective service."
Evans has evaluated in some form or another more than 150 collegiate
institutions in the Commonwealth. He has been responsible for taking
sixteen institutions to university status, eighteen to four-year
college status, eight to two-year junior college status, eight to
be seminaries, thirty-eight to graduate and professional status
and three branch campuses and 26 out-of-state to operate in Pennsylvania.
