BUCKS COUNTY COFFEE CO. "BREWING" AT PBU EAGLES NEST
For almost two years, PBU students worked toward the creation
of an on-campus snack shop that would be a "destination"
for resident students and commuters. They wanted the "feel"
of a Star Bucks or the café areas like those of Borders Bookstore
or Barnes and Noble.
The
results have been worth the wait. On Wednesday, January 30th, a
grand opening was held for the new Eagles Nest Coffee Shop. The
3,600 square foot area, which was originally an eating area (the
old "Eagles Nest Snack Shop"), features couches and chairs,
circular tables and soft lighting. On the walls, the wainscoting
and old pictures and publications that are mounted in black wooden
frames lend themselves to the classy, yet comfortable environment
in which to sip coffee, study or hang out with friends.
The
Eagles Nest will be selling the coffee varieties and specialties
of Bucks County Coffee Co. The PBU location becomes one of the more
than 100 or so specialty or wholesale locations of Bucks County
Coffee. The company began when owner Rodger Owen started roasting
nuts in his garage. Later, he started roasting coffee beans. The
company is now in its 20th anniversary year.
