M.Div. and D.Min. Programs at PBU
February 27, 2003
In July 2002, Philadelphia Biblical University was granted approval for the
Master of Divinity
Degree (M.Div.) Program by the PA Department of Education. The
first students in this program were enrolled in Fall 2002. Students
earn their degree by taking 93 credits and may complete the program
in a five-year time period through courses that are rostered in
evenings, weekends and summer modules.
For graduates of the program who desire further ministry training,
they have the opportunity to continue their preparation right on
PBU’s campus through the Doctorate
of Ministry Degree Program (D.Min.) offered cooperatively by
Dallas Theological Seminary and the University. All but two courses
from the required thirty hours are offered at PBU and most students
may complete their doctorate over a time period of two years.
“ Through careful discussion, program development, and cooperative
effort, Philadelphia Biblical University and Dallas Theological
Seminary have formed a relationship for students earning their Doctor
of Divinity Degree,” said Dr.
Jay A. Quine, Chair of PBU’s M.Div. Program and Dean of
the School of Biblical Studies. “We have made sure, and agreed
that our graduating M.Div. students will qualify to enroll in Dallas’
Doctorate of Ministry Degree Program.”
Dr. John Reed, Chair of the D.Min. Program in Dallas, TX said,
“I’m thrilled to develop this relationship. It is an
exciting opportunity to future graduating PBU students.”
