Men's Volleyball Receives AVCA National Ranking
Congratulations to the PBU
Men's Volleyball Team for earning a ranking in the USA TODAY/American
Volleyball Coaches Association's Weekly Poll for NCAA Division III
teams.
With the record of 7-4 in late February, PBU's
team received a ranking of 15th among schools such as NYU, Vassar,
D'Youville and MIT. The results appeared in the February 26 issue
of USA TODAY after the Crimson Eagles defeated New Jersey City University.
The Men's Volleyball
Team is coached by David Emmons, a '97 graduate of PBU.
Additional note: The team continued to hold their ranking in
the March 4th poll.
Women's Soccer Team Receives NSCAA Award
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) recently
presented the PBU Women's
Soccer Team with a "Silver Team Ethics Award of Merit" which
is given to teams that "accumulate no red cards and a maximum of
five yellow cards." During Fall '02 season play, the Lady Crimson
Eagles received only one yellow card. PBU was one of 35 teams nationwide
to receive an award. Congratulations to Coach Carolyn Burgman and
the team.
Men's and Women's Basketball Teams in Regional Finals
The Men's and Women's
Basketball Teams competed in the National Christian Collegiate Athletic
Association (NCCAA) Division II East Regional Finals hosted at PBU
February 28-March 1.
The men's team
came close to clinching the regional championship, but lost by 1
point in the final seconds of their game with arch rival Baptist
Bible College. The Lady
