Dr. Al Lunde to conduct final concert with
PBU Symphony Orchestra & Community Chorus

The PBU Symphony Orchestra and Community Chorus will be under the baton of
Dr. Alfred E. Lunde for the last time on Friday, February 10, 7:30 p.m. in “A Night to Remember.”
The concert is Dr. Lunde’s last performance with these ensembles prior to his retirement
in May 2006. The program features some of his favorite choral and orchestral selections as well as Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 performed by pianist Samuel Hsu. Other selections include: Sing the Lord, Ye Voices All from Haydn’s “Creation”; Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio espagnol; Laudate Dominum from Mozart’s “Vesperae solennes de confessore” and
Psalm of Redemption by world-renowned organist and former PBU faculty member,
Robert Elmore. Also during the concert, Steinway will make a presentation to PBU in recognition of the University’s achievement as an “All Steinway School.”
Lunde, who has been with the University for 34 years, is founder of PBU’s School of Music & Performing Arts and the Community Chorus. Also, he is Chair Emeritus. He will be publically recognized by the University during a reception immediately following the concert. Lunde will conduct the PBU Chorale at the Annual Chorale Home Concert on Friday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. and in May he will lead the Chorale tour to Poland and the Czech Republic.
